WEIGHT PULL

Weight pull is a strength activity, the dogs are to pull the trolley first to qualify and then weight is added to the trolley.  It is not advised for your dogs to do this activity if they are showing signs of stress, ill or in season.

Scotch started weightpulling in 2005 when he was 18 months old, we were lucky with scotch that he took after his father and has the natural ability to "work in harness "  But I don't know where he got his noisy gene from--he has been voted  "the noisiest dog in a weightpull chute" every year!!

In 2006, Scotch gained his Working Weightpull Dog Title WWPD
And has also achieved:
1st Place Under 36kg Class 2006 AMCV Pointscore competition
1st Place 36kg--45kg Class 2007 AMCV Pointscore competition

Whisky has been doing weightpull since he was 3 and had his first attempts with Rhonda, since living with us I have avidly been a participant in the weightpull events with all of our dogs.  He is a gentle giant and pulls the trolley with ease. But he has to give you a giant cuddle before he pulls the trolley!
In his first year of weightpull he achieved his WWPD, (Working Weightpull Dog Title).  Whisky is the kind of dog who is just born to pull and has pulled his highest weight of 601kg recently (just shy of gaining his first leg to his WWPDX)  Below are some pics of him
and also a link to watch a clip of him in the chute.

We started competing in weightpull with Zebue when she was of 18 months of age.
Zebue has a very funny "technique" in the weightpull chute.  She is a very stubborn one in the chute and won't pull the trailer until there is 5 seconds left on the 60 second time limit and during that time you generally make a big fool of yourself.

Below are photo's of her in the weightpull chute.
